Why Back2Front is the place to be for foodies

Staying in the Westhoek is not just for the tranquility, the beautiful scenery, to get some fresh air, but also - or maybe even more importantly - because you are so pampered with culinary delights. The Westhoek is known for its delicacies and delicious surprises. We even call it 'The Tasty West'.
B&B

Back2Front may officially call itself Ambassador of the Tasty West. And we are very proud of that. What is 'Het Lekkere Westen'? That is the project of Westtoer to put the best of the Westhoek in the spotlight: the beer culture with for example a foaming red-brown Rodenbach, mouth-watering West Flemish wines, tasteful regional products, refined gastronomy, 141 talented chefs ... In short: if you are looking for a nice weekend, West Flanders and especially the Westhoek is a wise choice.

Culinary chefs

A lot of good things are grown, cultivated and processed here. Great and small chefs cherish the culinary treasures of the region, such as tasty meat with a story. The region around Ypres and Boezinge is also brimming with culinary talent. Lovers of gastronomy will find what they are looking for here.

If you come to stay in our B&B in Boezinge or to vacation in our vacation home, we will be happy to give you restaurant tips and addresses where you can taste the 'couleur locale' of the region.

Delights from Back2Front

In Back2Front itself we also do our best to make your stay in and around Ypres enjoyable and tasty. It starts with the 'honesty fridge'. In our kitchen we have filled the (unattended) fridge with goodies for you as our guest to taste and enjoy.

You can also enjoy breakfast. In our bed & breakfast, you get an assortment of regional products in the morning to lick your fingers and thumbs. The assortment changes per season and according to the offer, because we swear by delicious, fresh and seasonal products, because that is what tastes best.

Prince's breakfast

For me, caring for people and pampering them is second nature. I have always been attracted to the hospitality industry. That is why we started renting out our holiday home and especially the B&B. As the name says, a bed and breakfast are very important for our guests. The breakfast at B&B Back2Front is generous and deliciously fresh.

Local produce trumps

We like to work with local suppliers such as Hoeve Zuid-Bellegoed from Ypres with (h)honest products directly from the farm such as raw milk farm butter, yogurt, cottage cheese and desserts. Not to mention the ice cream and farmhouse cakes ...

By the way, speaking of pies, on Sunday morning our guests are served a home-made apple pie . We get a lot of compliments on that and questions about the recipe. Therefore, by popular demand: here is the recipe for the one and only Back2Front Apple Pie that will make your Sunday 'complete'.

By the way: from the summer onwards, everyone who passes by Moortelweg 4 in Boezinge on a Sunday afternoon will be able to enjoy our home-made apple cake with fresh coffee. So if you are in the neighbourhood...

Recipe of the Back2Front Apple Pie

8. Serve lukewarm (with a scoop of farmhouse ice cream)

Fancy it?

As an ambassador of Het Lekkerere Westen, we don't stop at breakfast. We are generous with tips for eateries in the area and delicious addresses (such as the Cheese Museum) to discover. To make your mouth water, we have compiled a free e-book with cycling routes along surprising places.

How about the Beer Bike Tour or Tournée Locale with four routes along active breweries in the region? We have also mapped out a special bicycle route where gourmets will certainly want to stop at one of the tastiest museums in the region (the visitor center of Jules Destrooper) and Eetkaffee Steenstraete.
